Soccer Season

Fall is here in TN and Katie is loving soccer season! We are SO PROUD of her and her improvements and hard work. As parents.......competitive parents that is.....Chris and I find ourselves having all these expectations for her. Then we remember that she is 4! :) She has always tried hard and followed the ball and "crowd" of girls after the ball, but until this last game she hasn't been very aggressive.
Then Aunt Kara came to town and has been working with her in the yard and really explaining things to her. With a little practice, she has figured out that she loves to kick the ball and score goals!

This past week we played a team that was pretty good. There are always a few girls that are way ahead of the group and those are usually the kids that have older siblings and have been around lots of soccer fields.
We are so happy with our coach this year, Coach Tim. He has a daughter on the team, Lindy (Lou they call her) who is very good. Her mom video taped parts of the game and made this YouTube video below. Lou and Katie played together this past week so there is a lot of Katie in the video too.

Football Season

Last weekend we went to Columbia, Kentucky to watch Pres (Kara's fiance') and his SVU football team play. On Thursday we found out that where they were playing was less than 2 hours from us. Honorary Aunt Lori took Katie to her soccer game and birthday party while the rest of us made the trek!

Chantelle, Brooklyn, Kara, Lauren, Pres & Chris

Pres #99 in his football stance.

So we are happily watching the game........

and this came! I mean in less than 3 mintes we saw it and it was here! The second there was lightning, the stands were evacuated. Within minutes it was raining cats and dogs! We all had to run to shelter and it was madness. :) The game kept going for the last 2 minutes before half time.

Then literally, halftime was over and the rain stopped!

"Track team" in training!

When the babies weren't eating or running to the potty, they were at the front yelling for Pres.

Then they would go back to eating! (Lauren)

Brooklyn

They finally got his attentioin!
Great job Pres and SVU!

Who Loves Preschool?

Well, Mommy REALLY loves preschool days! Lauren & Brooklyn love it too. :) Day 1 was a little hard for Brooklyn though. The girls are so unpredictable that I never know what each experience is going to bring. Recently though if 1 is happy, 1 is not. They must just want to make life more interesting.
Lauren walked right in, sat down for circle time and yelled "BYE MOM" over all the singing. Brooklyn saw that Lauren was happy and clung to my leg until Miss Shauna held her. When I picked them up all Lauren could tell me about was how "she was happy and sissy was sad ALL day!" Then she would pretend to cry just like Brooklyn did (supposedly) and remind me that she DID NOT cry, she was happy!

UPDATE: Day 2 was wonderful. No tears and lots of excitement!

Surfin USA

Make no mistake......this is Chris and Brooklyn. My 2 year old went to the lake with her dad today and a couple hours later I received this picture of them wake surfing behind a boat. What a little thrill seeker. :)

A SUPER CUTE ballerina preschooler

Katie has officially started her last year of preschool and she loves it!

Ready on her first day!

Katie and Miss Kelly

She has also started tap and ballet. At first she was so excited to be a ballerina. But now that she has experienced the tap shoes, those are her favorite! It will be nice when those loud taps get some rhythm. :)

Done with the first day of class!
